We headed back east as usual for a quick Christmas run. It was only for a few days but we had a great time as always. I would say we are pretty lucky having both our parents living so closely because it allows us to split the holidays. We start out at Chris' parents for Christmas eve and then the morning. At about 1 or so, we head to my parents and do it all over again with my family. The way I look at it, we do Christmas twice in one day, who wouldn't want that?
Amazingly enough, this was also the first time in the last 8 years that we've actually headed home for a white Christmas. We lived in Wyoming, Colorado and Utah during that span and would get on a plane and leave tons of snow for luke warm temps and green grass. Not this year, we left 70 degrees and 156 straight days without measurable rainfall for the low 20's and 18 inches of snow on the ground. It felt great to get the sled out and compress vertebrae on poorly built ice jumps. I think I might have to get change my height on my drivers license after the pounding I took.
Shelby's new Tutu, made by hand by Chris....impressed? Me too!
Snow's cold! I've become a pretty big sissy since moving to SoCal
Christmas 2....why not make the greatest holiday better by doing it twice in one day?
