[She] just felt like running.....

After spending all day yesterday destroying the bathroom, Christine and I woke up at 4am and ran the America's Finest City 1/2 Marathon. This was Chris' first 1/2 marathon and mine as well, but this was the furthest she'd ever ran. After watching me train for the full and seeing all the people running the San Diego Marathon, she decided to sign up for this 1/2. I figured, "what the hell?, I'll run it with you." I'm sure am glad I did, it was a much more pleasurable experience. But the real story was Chris. She spent the last 2 months, running at 6 am during the week, going to pilates after work then coming home to run afterwards, all the Saturday's she got up and ran early to beat the heat. Every run that was longer than 5 miles was a personal best. Running 10 miles last weekend was a huge event for her, it was awesome. So today, when her goal was 2:10 and she came blazing over the finish line at 2:02, I couldn't have felt better for her. She was so psyched and relieved to be done, you could see it in her face. Unable to tell me how it was, all I got was "I need water.....now." After getting herself together, she spent the better part of the day talking about how fun it was, how good she felt, and how she can't wait to do it again.
So this post is all hers. Great job Chris, you couldn't have made me, Wilson, and Yeti more proud today.
